Welcome to Compás Trainer, the first deliverable of a scientific research program released by the KBCOO Research & Development team !
Issued from Mathematical, Acoustic and Musicologic studies, Compás Trainer is an innovative way to improve the grasp of tango basics by educating your ears and feet, using a free application on a Smartphone.
By downloading Compás Trainer, you will participate to our R&D program by giving us feedback about the use of a metronome to improve the acquisition of Tango basics related to music.
Use Compás Trainer either as a "augmented music player" to get strong and weak beats or as a support for foot and ankles exercises.
Use the Feedback feature to tell us how useful the App is or how we could improve it.
Give yourself just a little time each day to listen to four or five tangos, get into the rhythm and train your ankles, tendons and foot muscles. After a few weeks of regular practice, those 10/15 minutes will give you a much clearer perception of rhythm, weight control and dance steps. Then you can really concentrate and learn more from your tango teacher during the classes. Enjoy the lessons and use your self-trainer to progress at home.
Compás Trainer is for newcomers to tango as well as intermediate/advanced dancers who wish to improve their musical understanding. It is not designed for professional dancers or choreographers, even though many professionals may advise their students to use the Compàs Trainer.
Compás Trainer is a free Application for your Smartphone. Our goal is to release a product soon which will continue to be freely available. The future product will come along with a few tangos, vals and milongas. Extra packs from composers (d'Arienzo, Di Sarli, Canaro, Biagi, etc.) will then be commercial available.
